Royce is responsible for creating the data framework for transformation of legacy experiment data into modern digital standards for storage and analysis. His main project is the establishment of the new Research Forest Network in the UK, as part of the Nature for Climate Fund (NCF). Working closely with scientists and IT teams, he ensures that datasets are accessible, flexible, and scalable for the organisation.
Royce is interested in connecting his roots in forestry with knowledge in data processing, analysis, visualisation and user experience design to make data more friendly to users, e.g. Through the creation of interactive dashboards.
Before joining Forest Research in 2024, Royce worked in species conservation in Asia, Europe and the UK. He first received his BSc Forestry from National Taiwan University, before completing his MSc European Forestry (Erasmus Mundus) from University of Eastern Finland and University of Natural Resources and Applied Life Sciences, Vienna (BOKU).
