Assistant Statistician

  • To contribute to policy development, monitoring and evaluation of sustainable forest management by providing statistical information, analysis and advice.
  • Provide statistical support to the Forestry Commission Expert Group on Timber & Trade Statistics (EGTTS).

Penelope Donohue joined Forest Research as Assistant Statistician in IFOS-Statistics in 2015. She took an honours degree in Business at Coventry University (2000-2003) and an honours degree in Marine Biology at Plymouth University (2006-2010). Penelope was awarded a PhD in Biology from Glasgow University in 2015 during which she investigated the physiological response of marine calcifying biota to global climate change. Penelope has a range of experience in business, academia and research and, most recently, the civil service.

Affiliations

As a team we also represent the Forestry Commission on the Natural Environment Statistics Advisory Committee for the Scottish Government and represent the UK on the Eurostat Forestry Statistics and Accounts Working Group.
