As a Programme Support Officer, Lucy provides essential Programme support for work under a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between FR and the Department of Energy Security and Net Zero (DESNZ), which delivers research on climate change mitigation to support Net Zero policies.
Lucy joined Forest Research in February 2024 as a Programme Support Officer within the Mensuration, Growth and Yield team. Prior to joining Forest Research, Lucy worked in education and specialised in outdoor education and science. As a forest school leader, she has experience of working with children in forest school settings and has designed a range of educational sessions, that are rooted in Positive Psychology and Ecopsychology. Lucy’s background in social science, with both her BSc and MSc in Psychology, has also allowed her to explore nature connectedness and the associated impacts academically. She achieved a distinction for her MSc research paper, where she designed a new psychological intervention to increase an individual’s authenticity, connection to nature and ecological sensitivity.
