NFI Quality Assurance Officer

Chris is part of the team responsible for maintaining the quality and consistency of the survey work and data collection on the National Forest Inventory. This role includes the field testing of surveyors prior to their joining the Inventory. Quality Assurance involves meeting the contract staff engaged in the survey work, ensuring contract compliance, checking data submission via field and remote methods, assisting with training of new staff and contributing to protocol updates.

Chris joined Forestry Commission Scotland in 2012 as part of the survey team in Scottish Lowlands District before moving to his current role within IFOS in 2013. Prior to joining the Forestry Commission Chris successfully ran his own survey business for nine years specialising in inventory, mapping and work on the National Inventory of Woodlands and Trees (NIWT)
