MSc, BSc
Kaisa is a soil scientist and she mainly works on the Expanding Agroforestry project which is one of the Defra Nature for Climate projects. Her work consists of building and improving the understanding of the current knowledge of soil functions under different agroforestry systems, including soil carbon, nitrogen, greenhouse gas fluxes and biological activity. Kaisa leads the project’s soil fieldwork campaigns across the UK to collect data to address identified knowledge gaps and uses laboratory-based techniques to analyse samples. She also conducts data analysis and produces scientific reports.
Kaisa joined Forest Research in May 2023 and spent her first few months completing the dissertation for her MSc in Soils and Sustainability from the University of Edinburgh. She has also been awarded a BSc in Zoology from the University of Bristol.
