Overview

This project aims to further develop the Climate Change Hub as a key resource for the forestry sector and beyond, expanding the content to include both adaptation and mitigation guidance

The project will also explore the most effective ways to engage woodland owners, managers, and stakeholders. It will identify the resources and mechanisms that will best support their efforts in climate change mitigation and adaptation.

The project will also explore how to best meet the needs of practitioners and stakeholders. It will identify the most effective methods for delivering information and encouraging knowledge-sharing in the forestry sector.

This project is part of the Nature for Climate Fund.

Research objectives

  1. To expand the content of the Climate Change Hub to include mitigation advice. This will complement the current focus on adaptation and make the Hub a key resource for comprehensive climate change information in the forestry sector.
  2. To develop the Climate Change Hub to engage both practitioners and stakeholders. This includes meeting the needs of private sector landowners, local authorities, and forestry membership organizations.

Research Questions

  1. How can the Climate Change Hub be developed to better engage and meet the needs of practitioners and stakeholders, such as private landowners, local authorities, and forestry organizations?
  2. What research or resources would help practitioners feel confident in undertaking mitigation and adaptive practices?
  3. How do UK woodland owners and managers prefer to receive industry information, collaborate, and share best practices?
  4. What is the most effective way to encourage knowledge-sharing among practitioners, and who should deliver it?

Latest updates

Additions and improvements are being made to the Climate Change Hub throughout the project.

Currently, work is underway to create further content and guidance for landowners and practitioners.

Feedback from users and stakeholders will help inform the next phase of development, and we will be assessing the initial impact of the Climate Change Hub on helping to reduce barriers to implementing adaptive practice.
