Research Information Service

The FR Research Information Service provides a scientific and technical information service and makes information available to all who are interested in trees and forestry in Great Britain.

Consulting our collections in person (not available at present)

One of the UK’s major collections of forestry and arboriculture publications for the temperate regions of the world is currently housed at Alice Holt Lodge and this can be consulted in person to study, read and copy. Please make an appointment to visit and note that there is a charge for photocopying.

Supply of electronic copies or loans

We can only supply copies of articles or loans to other libraries through the British Library Inter-Library Loan scheme or the Scottish Agricultural Libraries Group scheme. Students should contact their College or University Library and others should ask their Public Library service. Staff of Government departments or agencies should send requests via their own library service.

Our primary users are Forest Research staff and we provide a loan and copy supply service to all Forestry Commission staff, to staff on secondment to the Forestry Commission, and those with contracts to do research for the Forestry Commission.
