The Senior Administrator will be a key member of a team of Field Data Services staff working out of Alice Holt  Lodge, carrying out a wide range of administrative and support tasks to assist field teams and Field Data Services managers to deliver a diverse range of projects to support the delivery of Forest Research’s science programmes.

The Laboratory Technician will play a part in maintaining the laboratories to a good standard and compliant with Health and Safety requirements. They will also assist the other laboratory technicians in supporting the research staff and lab managers, and have the opportunity to learn about and work within a category II containment facility and use a laboratory information management system (LIMS).

The Laboratory Manager will be responsible for overseeing the smooth functioning of several laboratory spaces, which include supporting compliance to health and safety and COSHH requirements, management of equipment, general laboratory hygiene and procurement of consumables and equipment.

The purpose of this role is to populate and initiate an advanced-generation genetic evaluation system for British conifers, using tools developed by Tree Breeding Australia for “rolling-front tree breeding”.
