Results of ten years of monitoring water chemistry in three afforested lowland raised bogs undergoing peatland restoration. Forest clearance led to an increased PO4-P, colour, dissolved organic carbon and suspended sediment concentrations but to a relatively limited degree. Impacts in pH were variable, climatic factors affect the timing and degree of water quality impacts. Phased felling and low impact harvesting can effectively control negative impacts.
