Software engineering

Chris is a senior software engineer who works closely with other team members. He provides software support and guidance in best practice methods in software development which is a requirement of creating models.

Chris then uses the models to design and implement software toolkits. These toolkits are aimed at various users and can range from FR internal testing of an individual model to grouping several models together to develop larger systems which can be used in further research.

Chris completed a BSc in software engineering in 2000 and after working in the private sector joined Forest Research in 2002 as head of the Software Development Unit. Since then he has been involved in many software projects, including the full development life cycle to project management.
