Imogen is an Entomologist who joined FR in September 2023 as part of the Ips typographus management team, which advises on Ips management to the Forestry Commission England and Defra-led Ips typographus Incident Management Team.
Imogen obtained her PhD from Newcastle University while based in industry with the Royal Horticultural Society, which focused on understanding slug species diversity in UK gardens using a citizen science approach. From June 2024 – April 2025 Imogen held the role of Entomology Collections Manager, redeveloping FR’s historic entomology collections to better support the advisory, diagnostics and research work undertaken at FR through the development of user training and procedural implementation around the use of the insect collections.
