Overview

The Treescape Expansion theme focuses on increasing woodland cover across both urban and rural areas. Our projects aim to boost tree planting efforts and explore innovative ways to expand woodlands.

Key Projects

  • Tree Planting Methods: We’re testing new techniques to improve tree planting success, especially in challenging environments.
  • Agroforestry: Research is uncovering the barriers to integrating trees with crops and how to overcome them.
  • Impact of Development: Projects are assessing how new developments affect ancient woodlands and finding ways to mitigate these impacts.

Why it matters

Expanding woodlands helps combat climate change, supports biodiversity, and enhances green spaces in our communities. By improving how and where we plant trees, we can create more resilient and diverse landscapes.
