The largest forest in the UK is Galloway forest, in Dumfries & Galloway, Scotland. It is 297 square miles. In second place, at 235 square miles is Kielder forest in Northumberland, England. The largest forest in Wales is the Brechfa forest at 50 square miles. It is worth noting that the reported dimensions of these forests contain areas of land which are not all tree covered!
